September 3rd Founders Day Road Closure
Founders Day Celebration starts off with a parade heading eastbound on Manchester from
Eatherton Road to Taylor Road where it will turn into Town Center. Parades are a great way to
start off any event but it will result in the temporary closure of Manchester Road between
Eatherton and Taylor/Village Hills Parkway. I would like to give all of our residents who use
that route a heads up so you can best prepare if you think this may affect you.
9am – 10am Manchester Road between Taylor and Eatherton will be open to local traffic only.
At 10 am the parade starts and the road will close to all traffic, opening west to east as the tail
car passes each intersecting street. The time frame of the closure is likely to be 30 - 45 minutes,
which is just enough time to really enjoy watching the parade from a lawn chair on the side on
Manchester Road.
Community Response to Heroin and Prescription Painkiller Use by Teens
The St. Louis area has been experiencing an epidemic of heroin and prescription painkiller use
by teens. This epidemic has resulted in over two hundred deaths by overdose in the region last
year. Our community experienced over two hundred overdose deaths last year alone!
This forum is intended to provide helpful and useful information to the community in order to
proactively confront this situation and help stop the epidemic before it gets any worse.
This meeting is open to professionals, parents and students. Speakers will be on hand
from the St. Louis County Police Department, the National Council on Alcoholism and
Drug Abuse – St. Louis Area and the St. Louis County Children’s Service Fund.
September 21st, 7-8:30PM: Marquette High School

Parking Violations
Recently I have responded to calls regarding to and or been asked questions about parking on
the streets in Wildwood. So I would like to advise all of our residents about the most common
parking violations we come across.
Do not:
Park faced against traffic
Park on roadway in a way that it leaves less than 10 feet of passable road width
Park in front of another person’s driveway
Park within 15 feet of a fire hydrant
Park where official signs prohibit parking
Park within 8 feet of a mailbox between 8am and 5pm
Park on roadway uninterrupted for over 24 hours (Except between 5pm Fri – 9am Mon)
Park / leave boat or camper, trailer, motor home or commercial vehicle over 25’ long, 9’high,
8’wide on roadway for over 1 hour in a calendar day, except to load/unload.
Park on roadway displaying vehicle for sale
Park on roadway for purpose of repairing the vehicle (non-emergency)
Park in residential front yard
There are more parking violations than those listed above, but these are the most frequent
violations that we see and cite. As you may notice, these violations are in regard to public
safety, to assist in public service, to maintain usable lane width, deter visual obstruction for
drivers, as well as the maintenance of your property value.
Child Safety Seats
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration indicates that approximately 90% of child
passenger safety seats are installed incorrectly. This could result in serious physical injury or
death to a child passenger in a vehicle that is involved in a collision.
The Saint Louis County Police Department-Wildwood Precinct wants to educate the public on
this issue and will demonstrate the proper manner in which to install your child safety seat. To
schedule an appointment, call Officers Reiter or Wood at (636) 458-9194.
Reminder- St. Louis County, Wildwood Police Department offers vacation checks for your
home when you’re out of town. Call the Wildwood Precinct at 458-9194 or go to the City of
Wildwoods website, cityofwildwood.com to fill out the form to have your resident checked.
Reminder- St. Louis County, Wildwood Precinct Neighborhood Policing Officers will assist you
in properly installing your child safety seats. Call P.O. Jamie Reiter or P.O. Brad Wood at
636-458-9194 to schedule an appointment.
Reminder – Please be respectful of posted speed limits for everyone’s safety and remember that
speed limits within our city streets are radar enforced.
The St. Louis County, Wildwood Precinct recently had refrigerator magnets made up with the
precinct and emergency phone numbers for our residents. If you are interested in having a
refrigerator magnet you are welcome to stop by the precinct, Monday through Friday during
business hours to pick one up.
