 SPRING 2010 NEWSLETTER

KICK OFF  THE  SUMMER  WITH  A  PARTY  AT  THE  POOL

It only requires eight (8) members to volunteer and the duties do not take much time.  Would you be willing to make a run to Sams, Shop-n-Save, Lucas Liquor or Dierbergs for supplies (reimbursement upon receipt) or grill burgers & dogs at your home earlier in the day? The party would be held Saturday, June 12, 4pm. Please contact Dana Fenster call 458-9301 or Click Here to send Dana an Email Thank you in advance for your support!

POOL  WORK  DAY  IS  SATURDAY,  MAY 15  FROM  9:30am-2:30pm.

Our time will be spent setting up & wiping down the furniture and cleaning the restrooms.  The only special project for this season is sealing the brick posts that hold our black fence together.  If anyone would like to volunteer, please call Tammy Dietrich at 273-4680 or Click Here to send Tammy an Email.
Many hands make light work, so please stop by for any amount of time you have available.

IMPORTANT*****POOL  RULE

In accordance with our insurance policy and county regulations, children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a responsible adult of 18 years or older when visiting the pool. If you are considering sending your children to the pool with a caregiver, please make sure they are at least 18 years old & bring photo i.d. with them.

Pool Hours:  Open daily from 11am to 9pm except Fridays, open until 10pm. A new phone number will be posted on the website & clubhouse.

FOR  YOUR  INFORMATION:

Lifeguards Unlimited, our pool management company, participates in the Red Cross Examiner Program.  As part of this program, an anonymous inspector will visit our pool to observe the lifeguard on duty.  The inspector will secretly video record the lifeguard at work.  We did not want members to be alarmed by this activity, so we are making you all aware ahead of time.  In an effort to improve our staffing situation at the pool, we are happy that LU takes this extra step.

Trustee Elections:  Congratulations to Tammy Dietrich! Tammy was nominated and elected as our new Pool Trustee.

Budget 2010- For the The Village of Winding Trails:  Regular subdivision expenses were discussed and approved at the annual meeting with no increase to the annual dues of $110.  For the Bath & Tennis Club:  In accordance with new county regulations, new equipment was installed to avoid entrapment in the main & wading pools. The cost was close to $3000.  We will also be required to add a flow meter to our chlorine system in 2010.  The cost will be $2500.  Bath & Tennis budget was proposed and approved with no increase to annual assessment of $275.  For details on the annual budget refer to the website at www.windingtrails.us/.

Architectural Review:  Please remember that ALL Structural Changes to the outside of your home must be approved by the architectural committee.  These include replacing tie walls, dramatic color changes to the outside of the home and/or roof and fencing additions.  Another important point is to keep your trees trimmed near the sidewalks for both pedestrian and road traffic.  Further details can be obtained from the Architectural Guidelines available online at www.windingtrails.us/Architectural.htm.

REMINDERS:  Please be a good neighbor and clean up after your dog.  When you walk your dog, bag the waste and take it home.  Do not leave it on the ground (in the common ground, pool area or anywhere!) and do not throw it down the storm drain. (MSD says “…if you see them doing it call the police.”)

Parking of automobiles on the street more than 24 hours is prohibited & you can be fined.

Communication is a key to keeping our neighborhood friendly, safe and a desirable place to live (and easy to sell when you're ready).  Please make us aware when something seems out of the ordinary.  Try to read the notices we send so you are informed and prepared. If you have not given us your email address or if it has changed, please Click Here It will be kept confidential (Emails are sent Bcc so no one will see your email address.).  If you have any problems receiving emails, call our website volunteer, Richard Baricko at 458-4576.  If you don't have email access, information can be obtained by contacting one of the trustees.  Thank you for your support.

On behalf of the entire neighborhood, the trustees would like to thank all the residents & pool members who pitch in to make our community  fun, safe and well-maintained.  So many people volunteer behind the scenes, so here are just a few we would like to mention: Richard Baricko for our website; Sharon Hutson for the phone directory; Jamie Marks for planning the Dog Swim; Lori Herring, Laine Angelo, Joan Nethero & Holly Fercho for planning the Road Rally; Jenny Reed, Vicki Marks & Sheila Richards for entrance decorations; Lori Herring for hosting the Cookie Exchange; The Fensters, The D'Erricos and The Dietrichs for hosting the Holiday Progressive Party; and Jim Weinhold for managing the Luminaries.  We apologize if anyone was forgotten, your help is so greatly appreciated!
